How to Enroll in Jefferson Health Plans CHIP

You can enroll your child in Jefferson Health Plans CHIP online through COMPASS, Pennsylvania’s secure online system.

Prefer to enroll by phone? Call the CHIP helpline at  
1-800-986-KIDS (5437).

If your child or teen is uninsured and a resident of Pennsylvania, they may qualify for CHIP. Eligibility depends on household income and household size. Many families receive CHIP coverage for free!

Do I have to submit proof of income to apply for CHIP in Pennsylvania?

All paper and online applications include language stating that you must mail or fax proof of current income. However, you are NOT required to send proof of income with an application. We will try to verify all income through electronic databases. If we cannot verify income electronically, we will ask for paper income documentation. In that case, you are responsible for providing the necessary information.

I need help enrolling in CHIP. Who can I call?

Call the CHIP helpline at 1-800-986-KIDS (800-986-5437) and select prompt 2, then select prompt 1 for application assistance. A CHIP representative will assist you with applying or answer any questions you may have.
